To become a real estate salesperson, you will need to go through an RES Course conducted by a CEA Approved Course Provider (ACP) which costs around $700~ depending on training provider, before applying for the RES examination. There are 2 ways to claim for your RES course which we will provide step-by-step instructions on how to do so for both:

How much can I claim under UTAP?
NTUC members can enjoy 50% claims on the unfunded course fee, capped at $250 per calendar year when you sign up for courses approved by UTAP. The annual fee is $117 ($9 per month from January to November and $18 for December).

Now, you can proceed to apply for your RES course and make sure to have your RES course completion certificate (UTAP application must be submitted within 6 months after exam completion together with the receipt and examination results slip or CEA certificate)

Who can apply?
All NTUC members can apply for UTAP. However, the following criteria must be met to be eligible for UTAP:
Paid-up NTUC membership before course commenced, throughout whole course duration and at the point of claim
Course by training provider must be supported under UTAP, and training must commence within the supported period
Course must not be fully funded through company sponsorship or other types of funding (i.e. Double claims from UTAP and SkillsFuture are not allowed)
You must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and sat for all prescribed examination(s), if any
UTAP application must be submitted within 6 months after course completion
How long does the UTAP claim take?
If you have completed your claim successfully and fulfilled the claim criteria, you should receive your claim(s) in 4 to 6 weeks after the submission of the relevant information. For audit purpose, you may be required to submit relevant documents such as course fee receipt, certificate etc.
2. Claiming RES course fees through SkillsFuture Credit
SkillsFuture Credits can also be used for claiming your RES Course. Eligible to all Singaporeans age 25 and above. Individuals may use their SkillsFuture Credits to directly offset their course fee (Depending your Skillsfuture balance available) and pay any remainder by Cash/NETS/Internet Banking.
How to claim?
Depending on the Course Provider, some requires you to contact them before making payment, whereas some will have specific steps to follow during the payment process.

1. Approach a course provider, they should provide you with an invoice indicating your:
Name as per NRIC
Name of training provider
Course title
Amount of course fees paid (in SGD)
Course start date
2. You will have to upload this invoice by logging into SkillsFuture portal
3. Go to Digital services > Claim SkillsFuture credit
4. Enter your course or course provider details and submit claim.
